Dear XXX,
We had temporarily paused publication on our public pre-application planning enquiry file of some third party comments that raised legal matters and questioned the conduct of various parties.
Officers reviewed the nature of the comments and the Public Access terms of use, and considered the local interest in and sensitivity of the site. We concluded that all comments would be published in the interests of transparency. I drafted a note for the file to explain the status of the site, the extent of our remit and what type of comments could be taken into account when we consider the planning merits of the pre-application enquiry submitted. This is now available to view alongside our initial pre-application advice to the applicant.
The pre-application has now been withdrawn at the applicant’s request. The applicant wishes to undertake more in depth community engagement before asking for our further advice.
Regards,
Naomi Langford Major Projects Officer South Downs National Park Authority
